Agave Iced Matcha Recipe

Matcha nurtured by the earth, and agave infused with the warmth of the sun.

This time, we are pleased to share a collaborative recipe with Tree of Life, bringing together two gifts from nature.

We used ISSO TEA’s “Ceremonial Grade Matcha” and Tree of Life’s “Organic Agave Syrup.”

The rich umami and deep green color characteristic of high-quality matcha are beautifully complemented by the natural sweetness of agave syrup, which has been gaining attention among health-conscious consumers in recent years.

This recipe is easy to make and enjoy at home. We hope you’ll give it a try.

Tree of Life Organic Agave Syrup

Agave syrup is a plant-based sweetener made from the core of the blue agave plant, which has been used since the 16th century as an ingredient in tequila.
With a lower GI (Glycemic Index) than sugar and a naturally high level of sweetness, agave syrup has attracted attention as an alternative sweetener.
It has a rich, caramel-like flavor and provides a satisfying sweetness even in small amounts. Its mild flavor does not overpower the original taste of food or beverages, making it a versatile ingredient for a wide range of recipes.

What is GI?

GI stands for Glycemic Index, a measure of how much a food raises blood glucose levels. Foods with a GI of 55 or below are generally considered low-GI foods.

The core of the blue agave plant is called a piña, meaning “pineapple,” because of its shape.

A mature piña can reach approximately 70–80 cm in diameter and weigh around 30–40 kg. It is harvested from the ground using a specialized farming tool called a coa.
