ISSO Lemongrass Green Tea Sparkling Recipe

Thank you for the wonderful feedback on our last Sencha Sparkling recipe! We loved hearing comments like:

  • "I tried it and it was delicious!"
  • "I discovered a new way to enjoy Japanese tea!"

We also received questions asking if other ISSO TEA flavors could be used to make sparkling tea. So today, we’re trying it with ISSO Lemongrass Green Tea. The steps are just as simple as before. This time, we’ll make a larger serving in a tumbler glass.

What You’ll Need:

  • Hot water: 90ml (90°C)
  • Carbonated water: 90ml
  • Tea (ISSO Lemongrass Green Tea): 7g of loose leaf tea or 1 tea bag
  • Teapot (Kyusu): for brewing the tea
  • Heat-resistant container (such as a teapot): for cooling the tea with ice
  • Ice cubes
  • Glass
  • (Tea strainer)

Instructions:

1. Place the loose tea leaves or a teabag into the teapot (Kyusu).

2. Pour the hot water over the tea and steep for 1 minute if using loose leaves, or 1.5 minutes if using a teabag.

3. Transfer the brewed tea to the heat-resistant container.

4. Add ice cubes and gently swirl to cool the tea, then immediately pour it into a glass. (Use a tea strainer to hold back the ice if necessary.)

5. Add plenty of ice and pour in the carbonated water.

You can enjoy it as is, or for a twist, add some fresh mint for a refreshing aroma or a slice of lemon or lime for a zesty flavor. This is the perfect drink to cool down during the lingering summer heat. Enjoy the freshness of ISSO Lemongrass Green Tea!
