ISSO Sencha Green Tea Sparkling Recipe

Hello everyone! The hot days are still with us, aren't they?

Today, I’d like to share a recipe for ISSO Sencha Sparkling that will lift your spirits even on these sweltering days. Whether you enjoy it in a flute glass for a special toast or casually sip it to cool off on a hot summer day, this refreshing drink is perfect for any occasion.

What You’ll Need:

  • Hot water: 50ml (at 80°C / 176°F)
  • Sparkling water: 60ml
  • Tea (ISSO Signature Sencha / Yutaka Midori Sencha): 3g of loose leaf tea or 1 tea bag
  • Teapot (Kyusu): For brewing the tea
  • Heat-resistant container (like another teapot): For cooling the tea with ice
  • Ice cubes: A few
  • Glass
  • (Optional: Tea strainer)

Steps:

1. Place the tea leaves or tea bag into the teapot (Kyusu).

2. Pour the hot water into the teapot and let it steep for 1 minute.

3. Transfer the brewed tea into another heat-resistant container (such as another teapot).
4. Add ice cubes to the container and swirl gently to cool the tea. Once chilled, pour the tea into a glass.
(You can use a tea strainer to hold back the ice cubes as you pour.)

5. Pour the sparkling water into the glass.

Enjoy the refreshing taste of sencha with the delightful fizz of sparkling bubbles. This drink pairs well with various dishes, making it perfect for everyday meals in your favorite glass or for serving at events and home parties. It’s a versatile treat you can enjoy all year round.
